Photoshop: AI Assistant Launches on Web and Mobile

Launch of Photoshop's AI Assistant in Public Beta

In October 2025, during the Adobe MAX event, Photoshop's AI Assistant was unveiled in private beta. Today, this tool is accessible in public beta on web, iOS, and Android platforms. Adobe also announced the integration of five new generative features into its image editor, Firefly.

A Conversational Assistant for Intuitive Edits

Photoshop's AI Assistant allows users to modify images using natural language queries. Among the features offered are the removal of unwanted elements, background changes, and adjustments to colors and lighting. Adobe specifies that the AI Assistant can either apply changes automatically or guide the user step by step. On mobile devices, queries can be voiced.

The web version of Photoshop also introduces a new feature in public beta, called AI Markup. This option allows users to draw directly on an image to target a specific area, to which a text prompt can be associated. For example, a user can mark an area and add flowers or mountains via a prompt.

Limited Offer Until April 9, 2026

Subscribers to the web and mobile versions of Photoshop enjoy unlimited generations until April 9, 2026. For users of the free version, access is limited to 20 generations.

Firefly Enhances Its Capabilities with New Tools

Firefly, Adobe's image editor, is enriched with five new generative features: fill, removal, extension, generative enlargement, and background removal. Additionally, the platform now offers over 25 partner templates, including specific contributions such as Google’s Nano Banana 2, OpenAI’s GPT Image, Runway’s Gen-4.5, and Black Forest Labs’ FLUX.2 [pro]. These additions allow users to transition from generation to editing without interrupting their creative flow. The new image editing features are available globally starting today, with unlimited generations for Firefly users.
