Google Enriches Gemini with Interactive 3D Models

Google recently unveiled a significant update to its AI, Gemini, which now allows for the generation of interactive 3D models and simulations in response to user queries. This new feature offers the ability to manipulate the generated models in real-time, adjusting sliders or modifying values for a more immersive experience.

During a test of this feature, it was possible to ask Gemini to create a simulation of the Moon orbiting the Earth. The produced 3D model allowed for various interactions, such as adjusting the speed of the Moon's orbit, hiding the orbital line, or pausing the simulation. Users can also zoom in and rotate the model for a more in-depth exploration.

A Step Forward in AI Competition

This update to Gemini comes shortly after other industry players introduced similar features. Anthropic recently enhanced Claude with the ability to respond with interactive graphs and diagrams, while OpenAI added the capability to generate visualizations of mathematical and scientific concepts to ChatGPT. Until now, Gemini had been limited to generating interactive images.

To access this new feature, users of the Gemini app must select the "Pro" model in the input bar. They can then ask questions such as "show me a double pendulum" or "help me visualize the Doppler effect," and choose the "Show me the visualization" option under the response provided by Gemini.
