A New Approach to Design
Last Tuesday, a senior designer from the Promer team shared a Figma Make link for a landing page concept. This project focused on a feature discussed previously. Before reviewing the design, I checked the history of the prompts used.
The first prompt asked to “make the design more lively.” The second suggested making it “slightly more premium,” and the third aimed for a “cleaner layout.” These instructions, while simple, produced a satisfactory result. However, I realized that something had changed.
An Evolution of Professional Language
Two years ago, this same designer provided detailed Figma feedback to junior team members. She specified technical adjustments like “reduce the stroke weight to 1.5 px” or “add 48 px of space above the CTA.” These instructions were precise and technical, contrasting with the current prompts.
The Influence of Chat Interfaces
AI chat interfaces, while seemingly neutral, influence how designers express themselves. The input area, with its blinking cursor, appears to offer total freedom. Yet, each AI design tool subtly imposes its own communication logic.
