Google recently announced a significant enhancement to its AI Pro plan, aimed at users looking to leverage more artificial intelligence features. Now, for a fee of $20 per month, subscribers receive 5 TB of cloud storage. This storage is spread across several services, including Gmail, Google Photos, and Google Drive. This increase in storage capacity, from 2 TB to 5 TB, is provided at no additional cost to users.
In addition to this expanded storage space, the AI Pro plan also includes Google Home Premium Standard, which is normally priced at $10 per unit. This service offers enhanced capabilities for Google Home devices, such as a 30-day event history. Furthermore, a one-month free trial is available for the AI Plus plan.
Shimrit Ben-Yair, Vice President and General Manager of Google One and Google Photos, shared on X that subscribers to the AI Pro and AI Ultra plans, the latter costing $250 per month, will have access to additional features. Notably, automatic browsing on Chrome, which allows for the automation of certain online tasks, is among these features.
Google offers three tiers of AI-focused plans: AI Pro, AI Ultra, and AI Plus. The AI Plus plan, which is the most affordable, provides 200 GB of cloud storage and limited access to AI features for $8 per month.
For casual AI users, Google also offers nine paid plans, with options for monthly or annual billing, in addition to free plans that provide 15 GB of storage. These plans start at $2 per month for the basic plan and go up to $250 per month for the Ultra plan, which includes 30 TB of storage.
With the recent shutdown of OpenAI's Sora video generation service, Google may see a growing interest in its image and video generation tools. All plans starting at $20 include 1,000 monthly AI credits, which can be used with Google tools such as Whisk and Flow to create videos. The cost of producing a video ranges from 10 to 100 AI credits, depending on the tool and type of video selected.
