Google Home: Gemini Enhances Smart Voice Control

Google has just rolled out a significant update for its Home app, aimed at enhancing interaction with the AI assistant Gemini. This update promises to make controlling smart home devices more natural and reliable. Users can now express their lighting preferences descriptively, for example by asking for "the color of the ocean," and Gemini will adjust the lighting accordingly.

The improvement doesn't stop there. Voice commands for controlling devices or climate are becoming more precise. For instance, it is now possible to ask Gemini to "preheat the smart oven to 350 degrees" or to set specific humidity levels. This update also includes better device recognition, allowing Gemini to distinguish between a "lamp" and a "light," which speeds up command execution.

Furthermore, Google has expanded access to Gemini for children with supervised Google accounts, enabling them to interact with the assistant in a safe environment.

This update is part of a series of recent enhancements, including the introduction of the "Live Search" feature for cameras. Google has also enriched the Gemini Live functionality, which allows for interactive conversations with the assistant. Now, the news summaries provided by Gemini Live are more detailed and interactive on smart displays and speakers. Users can ask questions like "What are the latest news?" or "Update me on tech news" to receive comprehensive summaries.

These updates are currently being rolled out, further enhancing the appeal of Google Home in the smart home sector.
