Genesis AI Unveils Major Breakthrough in AI and Robotics
The French start-up Genesis AI has recently made waves by presenting a significant innovation in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics. This company, backed by influential figures such as Xavier Niel and former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, has unveiled an AI model and a robotic hand that could rival Tesla's advancements.
An AI Model for Complex Tasks
On May 6, Genesis AI introduced its AI model, GENE-26.5, designed to control a robotic hand equipped with a sensor-laden glove. This hand stands out for its ability to perform complex manual tasks with remarkable precision. Among the demonstrated skills are cooking, playing the piano, solving a Rubik's cube, and handling laboratory pipettes. Unlike other robots, often criticized for being teleoperated, Genesis AI assures that its hand operates entirely autonomously.
Towards a Complete Robot and In-House Production
Genesis AI plans to begin marketing this robotic hand within the year. Currently manufactured in China, the company aims to bring its production in-house by 2027, with facilities in Paris and Palo Alto. In parallel, the start-up is working on the development of a complete robot. To enhance the skills of this future robot, Genesis AI intends to collaborate with industrial partners using its sensor glove to create a vast library of manual skills. It is also collecting videos taken from the perspective of operators equipped with cameras, thereby strengthening its database.
This strategy could well position Genesis AI as a serious competitor to Tesla and its Optimus robot.
