Cerebras Systems Prepares for IPO

Cerebras Systems, an innovative startup in the AI chip sector, has recently filed for its initial public offering (IPO). This move marks a turning point for the company, led by Andrew Feldman, who claims to be developing the fastest AI hardware for training and inference.

A Rocky Road

Initially slated for 2024, Cerebras's IPO had been delayed. This decision followed a federal review concerning an investment from G42, a company based in Abu Dhabi, leading to the withdrawal of the filing. However, the company managed to bounce back by raising $1.1 billion in its Series G last year, followed by a Series H of $1 billion in February, achieving an impressive valuation of $23 billion.

Strategic Partnerships and Financial Performance

Cerebras recently signed an agreement with Amazon Web Services to integrate its chips into Amazon's data centers. Additionally, a contract worth over $10 billion was secured with OpenAI, bolstering Cerebras's position in the market. Andrew Feldman stated in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that Cerebras has successfully established itself against Nvidia in the fast inference market at OpenAI.

In 2025, Cerebras generated $510 million in revenue, with a net profit of $237.8 million. However, excluding certain exceptional items, the company recorded a non-GAAP net loss of $75.7 million.

Future Outlook

While Cerebras has not yet specified the amount it hopes to raise during its IPO, a spokesperson indicated that the offering is expected to take place in mid-May. This IPO could have significant repercussions on the AI chip market, particularly for competitors like Nvidia.
