AI-generated creations, such as those from Claude Design and Lovable, share a recognizable visual aesthetic. At first glance, these designs stand out with a central hero, a bold title, and prominently displayed buttons. Rounded cards float over subtle gradients, while the sans-serif typography aims to remain neutral. This uniformity emerges from various tools and templates, yet the result remains surprisingly similar.
In my professional activities and freelance projects, I have had the opportunity to use tools like Lovable, v0, and Claude Code. The creative process often starts from scratch, producing acceptable results. However, as one iterates, the AI uses its own previous outputs as a foundation. After several cycles, one finds themselves spending tokens to move away from uniformity rather than towards a distinctive design.
This trend towards convergence raises questions about the role of designers. While AI optimizes designs towards general acceptability, it seems to limit the ability to create truly original works. Designers, faced with this uniformity, often turn to conventional methods for projects requiring greater precision and creativity.
