OpenAI Integrates Web Search into ChatGPT Images 2.0
OpenAI has recently unveiled a major advancement in its AI-based image generator by introducing web search capabilities for its latest version, ChatGPT Images 2.0. This update allows the generator to create multiple images from a single query, using information extracted from the web.
The model, named GPT Image 2, is now accessible to subscribers of the Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise versions of ChatGPT. With its new reasoning capabilities, the generator can analyze the structure of an image before its creation and provide visual explanations based on files uploaded by the user.
More Sophisticated and Varied Images
With the reasoning feature enabled, ChatGPT Images 2.0 can produce up to eight images at once while maintaining consistency in characters, objects, and styles across each scene. This paves the way for the creation of varied content such as manga pages, social graphics series, or interior design plans.
All ChatGPT users also benefit from enhancements that allow the generator to better capture the distinctive features of photos, as well as create pixel art, manga, and cinematic images. The generator can now produce images with a resolution of up to 2K and in various aspect ratios, from 3:1 to 1:3.
A Multilingual Advancement
In addition to its enhanced capabilities in English and other Latin alphabet languages, ChatGPT Images 2.0 makes significant strides in creating images containing text in Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Hindi, and Bengali. This multilingual improvement greatly expands the generator's usability on a global scale.
Initially launched last year, ChatGPT Images has already undergone a major update in December, which improved image generation speed and photo editing capabilities. However, competition in the visual AI space is intensifying with players like Google and its Nano Banana Pro, as well as Microsoft with MAI-Image-2.
As of today, ChatGPT Images 2.0 is available to all ChatGPT and Codex users, marking a new milestone in the evolution of AI-powered image generation tools.
