Full Analysis

Amazon continues to innovate in the entertainment sector by integrating artificial intelligence into its productions. During the AI on the Lot event held on Wednesday, Amazon unveiled its AI Creators Fund, an ambitious project led by Amazon MGM Studios and Amazon Web Services. This fund aims to support emerging digital creators and filmmakers by providing them with AI-based production tools.

Three new television series will soon debut on Prime Video thanks to this fund. These projects, created with the help of Project Nara, an AI tool developed by Amazon, include Love, Diana Music Hunters, Cupcake & Friends produced by BuzzFeed Studios, and Punky Dunk. Creators will have access to software such as Adobe Suite, Maya, and Kling to bring their artistic visions to life.

At the event, Aaron Pruner from CNET was able to view clips from these series. Love, Diana Music Hunters targets toddlers and preschoolers, featuring characters inspired by K-Pop transformed into animated versions. Pruner describes this series as a unique blend of traditional animation and AI elements.

Punky Dunk follows the adventures of a punk-rock duck and a cat in Los Angeles, populated by monsters and aliens, using stop-motion animation. As for Cupcake & Friends, it presents a claymation universe with a vibe reminiscent of Adult Swim, incorporating elements like a Ouija board and references to Bloody Mary.

AI, a New Major Player in Audiovisual Production

Amazon is not alone in exploring the possibilities offered by AI in entertainment. Netflix recently used this technology to rejuvenate characters in a scene from Happy Gilmore 2, and Disney is also looking into AI for some of its animation processes. It is clear that artificial intelligence is becoming an essential tool for major entertainment brands, promising to transform the way content is created and consumed.
