ElevenLabs Innovates with Music v2
The voice AI company, ElevenLabs, has recently launched a new version of its music generation model, called Music v2. This model stands out for its ability to change musical genres within the same piece, a breakthrough that comes ten months after the release of the first version.
Music v2 is designed to handle the complexity of voices and musical compositions. It allows for transitions from opera to heavy metal, executes fast rap while maintaining coherence, and incorporates non-musical sound effects. Artists can select a part of a song and recreate it using prompts, without altering the other sections.
Increased Flexibility for Artists
Unlike other models that generate short snippets, Music v2 enables artists to build a song by sections, such as the intro, verse, and chorus, before assembling them. The model operates reliably across different languages, lyrics, voices, and arrangements.
This innovation is part of a trend where AI labs, such as Google, Stability AI, and Suno, are developing models capable of producing professional-quality music. At the Google I/O conference, Google showcased similar features with its Flow Music tool.
Respect for Copyright
ElevenLabs has emphasized the use of licensed data for Music v2, allowing for commercial use without legal risk. This approach is crucial, as other startups like Suno and Udio have faced lawsuits over copyright issues.
The Music v2 model is available through the ElevenCreative tool for marketing and branding teams, as well as on the ElevenMusic platform for AI-generated song creation. Availability on ElevenAPI is also expected soon.
