The German startup Neura Robotics recently announced a significant partnership with Qualcomm, the semiconductor giant, to drive the next generation of robots and physical artificial intelligence. Utilizing Dragonwing Robotics IQ10 Chips
Neura Robotics will integrate Qualcomm's Dragonwing Robotics IQ10 processors into its robot designs. These chips, unveiled at CES earlier this year, are specifically designed for autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and humanoids. They will play a central role in the development of Neura's new generation of robots.
Additionally, Neura will utilize its robotic simulation and training platform Neuraverse, set to launch in June 2025, to test and refine robots operating with Qualcomm's IQ10 processors. This approach will ensure that the robots are not only efficient but also safe for everyday use.
A Shared Vision for Physical AI
David Reger, CEO and founder of Neura Robotics, emphasized the importance of this collaboration in a press release. He stated that the alliance with Qualcomm aims to accelerate a future where cognitive robots can safely operate alongside humans across various sectors.
This partnership strategy is not unique to Neura. Other companies, such as Boston Dynamics, have also formed strategic alliances, for example with Google DeepMind, to accelerate the development of their robots. These collaborations allow robotics companies to leverage technological advancements from hardware giants, thereby facilitating their market entry.
