Benioff emphasizes that in this new era, conversation becomes the interface, allowing AI agents to directly access data and tasks via Slack, voice, or other channels. This promises faster development cycles and a fully agent-driven approach.
A Shared Vision by OpenAI
Salesforce's initiative aligns with the vision of Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, who stated in February 2026 that every company would become an API company, whether they wanted to or not. According to Altman, traditional user interfaces are losing significance as AI agents autonomously take over access to services.
