Tobi Lütke Innovates with AI for His MRI
Tobi Lütke, the CEO of Shopify, recently demonstrated how artificial intelligence can be used to meet specific and personal needs. During his annual MRI, provided on a USB drive, Lütke decided not to use the standard commercial Windows software typically required to read the files.
Instead, he turned to the AI model Claude, developed by Anthropic, to analyze the MRI files and create a custom web viewer. According to Lütke, the result was significantly better than existing solutions. Furthermore, the tool was able to annotate the images with the examination results, showcasing the power of AI in personalizing tools.
An Instinctive Approach to AI
Lütke shared this experience on the platform X, where his thread garnered over 7.5 million views. He emphasized the importance of developing an intuition for using AI instinctively, in order to create tailored solutions when standard software falls short.
Bernard Golden, CEO of Navica, a Silicon Valley technology consulting firm, commented on this approach. He explained that while experimenting with AI can be time-consuming at first, it requires challenging established methods. According to him, the more one uses AI, the more skilled and confident one becomes, comparing this process to learning a new language.
