Google recently unveiled its new AI Ultra subscription plan, offered at $100 per month. This launch comes with a price reduction for the Ultra subscription, which drops from $250 to $200. This plan is primarily aimed at developers, tech professionals, and creatives, providing significant advantages over other subscription tiers.
Benefits of the AI Ultra Plan
The AI Ultra plan stands out with a usage limit five times higher than that of the AI Pro plan, applicable to the Gemini app and the Google Antigravity development tool. Subscribers also enjoy priority access to Google Antigravity, as well as integration with Gemini 3.5 Flash. Additionally, the plan includes 20 TB of cloud storage, ideal for hosting large databases and multimedia content, along with an individual ad-free YouTube Premium subscription.
New Features for All Plans
Regardless of whether users choose the full AI Ultra plan or its cheaper variant, several new features are on the way. Gemini Spark is a new AI agent that performs specific tasks by navigating through Google’s products and services. It will be available in beta in the United States for AI Ultra subscribers next week.
Project Genie, currently in experimental phase at Google Labs, allows users to create interactive virtual worlds from text descriptions and images. This project will be accessible to users of the AI Ultra plan at $200. Furthermore, the Gmail AI inbox is already available for AI Ultra plans and is now rolling out to AI Plus and AI Pro plans, helping to manage the inbox by suggesting tasks and drafting replies.
The Daily brief feature is accessible to all Google AI subscribers. It compiles emails, appointments, and Gemini discussions into an easily digestible format.
YouTube Premium Lite at No Extra Cost
The AI Ultra subscription already includes free access to YouTube Premium, a benefit that is now extending to AI Pro subscribers in several countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom. The Lite version of YouTube Premium removes ads for certain content, although ads remain for music and other videos.
Usage Calculation Model
Google has adjusted the usage calculation model for Gemini. Now, the complexity of queries, features used, and the length of conversations influence the calculation. The usage limit refreshes every five hours until the weekly quota is reached.
Choosing Between Plans
For those who do not require the capabilities of the Ultra plan, options are limited to the AI Plus plan at $8 per month and the AI Pro plan at $20 per month. The Plus plan, with its stricter quotas, may suit those anticipating moderate usage. Another option is to look for discounts, such as the one offered by Verizon, which provides an AI Pro subscription for $10 per month. Google bills monthly, allowing flexibility in changing subscriptions as needed.
