Skye, an innovative iPhone application, is still in private testing, but it has already managed to capture the interest of investors and many potential users. According to its creator, known by the pseudonym signüll on X, the app has attracted the attention of "tens of thousands" of users, which could indicate a growing desire for an iPhone more integrated with artificial intelligence.

A Revolutionary Agentic Home Screen

Unlike traditional applications or AI chatbots, Skye offers an "agentic home screen" for the iPhone, using iOS widgets as the main interface. These widgets are designed to bring ambient intelligence to the device, providing personalized information such as local weather, the user's current context, and even details about their health. According to a post by signüll, the app is also capable of drafting email responses, assisting with meeting preparations, sending reminders, and flagging suspicious charges on bank accounts.

Data Collection and Personalized Recommendations

A significant portion of the data used by Skye is collected through user-authorized connections. This allows the app to provide location-specific recommendations, as well as additional information about local businesses, neighborhoods, and tourist attractions while traveling.

Significant Financial Backing

Skye is being developed by a small team at the New York-based startup Signull Labs. Despite the absence of a public product, the app has already attracted the attention of investors. According to a filing with the SEC, the startup raised over $3.58 million in a pre-seed funding round that closed in September 2025. Pitchbook currently lists Signull Labs' funding with a post-money valuation of $19.5 million.

Growing Interest in the App

Since announcing its plans on X, signüll, whose name has been confirmed by TechCrunch as Nirav Savjani, stated that the app has added "tens of thousands" of users to its waiting list. This metric, if accurate, suggests strong consumer interest in a more AI-aware iPhone. It could also indicate an opportunity for a new type of AI device, such as the rumored OpenAI smartphone.

TechCrunch attempted to speak with signüll for more information about the product and funding but declined the offer to protect his anonymity, as signüll's name is already publicly listed in SEC filings. The founder noted that he previously worked at Google and Meta, although he does not have an obvious presence on LinkedIn. He also informed TechCrunch that Skye's early investors include a16z (Andreessen Horowitz), True Ventures, SV Angel, and other individuals. Offline Ventures also lists Signull Labs in its online portfolio.

Since the announcement of Skye, Savjani has appeared on the TBPN podcast under his avatar and has posted on X about his use of the app. He told TechCrunch that the Skye app plans to launch its user waiting list soon, although he declined to provide specific details.
