Google Search Reinvents Itself with AI
At the Google I/O 2026 event, the most notable announcement concerns the transformation of Google Search through the integration of AI agents. This radical change allows Google Search to not only respond to queries but also to act directly on them.
Among the new features is concept visualization, where AI can generate visual illustrations to explain complex ideas. Users can also receive programming assistance by sharing their code directly with Google Search. Additionally, event tracking is now possible, with reminders and updates sent via the Google app.
Launch of Gemini 3.5 Flash
Google also unveiled Gemini 3.5 Flash, a new AI model designed for enhanced performance. Available on multiple platforms, including the Gemini app and Google Search, this model is four times faster than its predecessors in terms of output tokens per second.
Gemini 3.5 Flash integrates with Antigravity to manage complex workflows, allowing developers to create advanced systems with multiple AI agents. It also facilitates the generation of enriched web interfaces and interactive experiences, making Google Search more dynamic. The launch of Gemini 3.5 Pro is expected next month, promising even more capabilities.
Gemini Spark, the Personal AI Agent
Gemini Spark presents itself as a personal AI agent that operates continuously through virtual machines in Google's cloud. Unlike traditional solutions, there is no need to keep a device on for Spark to continue working.
Powered by Gemini 3.5 and Antigravity, Spark can handle long-duration tasks and connect to various Google tools, with future compatibility planned for third-party tools. It is accessible via the Gemini app, as well as through email, chat, Android Halo, and Chrome.
Gemini Omni and AI Video Creation
Finally, Google introduced Gemini Omni, a model capable of creating videos using the reasoning capabilities of Gemini. This model can transform various inputs, such as text, images, videos, and audio, into a single high-quality video.
Users can edit videos through conversation, requesting modifications while maintaining the thread of the original instructions. Gemini Omni utilizes Gemini's knowledge to produce visually coherent videos and can integrate images or illustrations, thereby simplifying the creation process.
A Future Focused on Developers
This edition of Google I/O highlights Google's commitment not only to use AI but to enable developers to build software with AI agents, paving the way for new possibilities in the technology field.
