Anthropic Attracts VC Offers, Sets Record Valuation

A Rush for Investment in Anthropic

Anthropic, the startup behind the coding assistant Claude, is at the center of a genuine investment frenzy. Venture capital (VC) investors have recently made offers valuing the company at up to $800 billion. This impressive figure, which far exceeds the company's current valuation, reflects the growing enthusiasm for Anthropic's stock in Silicon Valley.

A Rapidly Expanding Valuation

According to sources close to the matter, these VC offers were made in recent weeks, effectively doubling the company's current valuation. Anthropic, which closed a funding round in February led by GIC and Coatue, was then valued at $380 billion. In comparison, OpenAI recently reached a valuation of $852 billion during its latest funding round.

On Caplight, a secondary exchange, Anthropic is currently valued at $688 billion, representing a 75% increase in just three months. This positive momentum is supported by the anticipation of a possible initial public offering (IPO) later this year.

Impressive Growth

Anthropic's annual revenue has seen a dramatic increase, reaching $30 billion, up from $9 billion at the end of the previous year. The company also announced that it has over 1,000 enterprise clients, each spending more than $1 million per year, a figure that has doubled in less than two months.

The Impact of Mythos

Anthropic recently unveiled its latest model, Mythos, which it considers too powerful to be released to the general public due to the risks of cyberattacks. Tomasz Tunguz, founder and general partner of Theory Ventures, expressed his enthusiasm for this model at the HumanX conference, highlighting Mythos's significance in the current technological landscape.
