Full Analysis

Meta, although often overshadowed in discussions about innovations in artificial intelligence, continues to make notable advancements with its commercial AI tools. The company recently announced that its solutions now facilitate approximately 10 million conversations per week, a remarkable increase from the 1 million at the beginning of the year.

This growth is part of the expansion of Meta's commercial AI assistant beta program, now available in the United States, EMEA, APAC, and LATAM. Currently, these tools are offered for free to small businesses, but CEO Mark Zuckerberg hinted that monetization could be considered in the future. "Commercial AIs are currently free for most businesses on our messaging apps, but as we progress, we also plan to work on establishing a long-term monetization model," he stated.

Meta is gradually integrating AI capabilities into its range of commercial products, leveraging its new large language model, Muse Spark. This model is the first to be launched under the Meta Superintelligence Labs division, established last year.

Additionally, the company has observed a growing interest in its creative AI tools, with over 8 million advertisers using at least one of its GenAI advertising tools. These tools have shown particularly strong adoption among small and medium-sized enterprises, enhancing advertising performance with conversion rates exceeding 3% thanks to video generation.

This week, Meta also launched the open beta of Meta Ads AI Connectors, allowing advertisers to link their Meta ad account to an AI agent. Revenue generated by the company's applications reached $885 million during the quarter, primarily driven by paid messaging on WhatsApp and subscriptions.

Earlier this month, the company began testing a WhatsApp Plus subscription that offers users custom icons, themes, and notification sounds. Financially, Meta reported a profit of $26.8 billion for the first quarter, up from $16.6 billion the previous year. Revenues reached $56.3 billion, marking a 33% increase compared to the previous year.
