Muse Code is offered with competitive pricing. The standard version of Muse Spark 1.2 is priced at $1.25 per million input tokens, 15 cents per million cached input tokens, and $4.25 per million output tokens. Tokens represent small segments of text or code processed by the AI models.

To attract a broader audience, Meta also offers a "contributor" tier at a reduced rate. However, this tier involves the user's activity being used to improve Meta's products. This option could appeal to individual developers and startups, while companies handling proprietary code might prefer the standard tier for privacy reasons.

Comparison with Competing Offers

Comparing Muse Code with its competitors is not straightforward, as Claude Code and Codex are often bundled in monthly subscriptions. For example, Anthropic's Pro Plan, which includes Claude Code, is offered at $20 per month, while Max plans range between $100 and $200 per month. On the other hand, OpenAI's Codex is accessible via a ChatGPT Plus subscription at $20 per month, with a Pro plan at $100 per month.

The launch of Muse Code by Meta highlights the growing importance of coding agents in the AI field. Unlike traditional chatbots, these agents can analyze a company's software, perform testing, and write code with minimal supervision.
