Meta introduces Style Sketch to create outfits with AI

Meta has launched Style Sketch, an AI application that generates outfit ideas based on clothing already owned and photos shared on its social networks. The app is currently only available in three Southeast Asian countries, as the company continues to roll out AI-powered tools.
Meta Increases AI App Launches in Recent Months
Style Sketch adds to a recent series of AI innovations at Meta. The company has launched Waddle World, an app that incorporates the Tamagotchi concept with AI, Pocket for ambient coding in games, and Vibes for quickly generating videos. This surge in applications is part of a broader strategy to release more tools. According to the Wall Street Journal, Mark Zuckerberg has informed employees that the company plans to release many more applications than before, with AI-related efficiency gains making launches faster and simpler.
Limited Availability and Uncertain Wider Deployment
Style Sketch is available on iOS and Android, but only in Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand. It is not clear if Meta plans a wider rollout. The app was first spotted by consultant Matt Navarra.

Generating Outfit Ideas from Users' Own Clothing
Style Sketch helps users compose outfits from the clothing they already own. The app connects to Instagram and Facebook to create a virtual wardrobe from shared photos. Items can also be added by taking a photo, recording a quick video, or importing images from the gallery. The tool then suggests combinations suited to the user's style. According to the app's description, virtual try-ons are possible on a realistic model that matches the user's body shape and skin tone. Users can also select a specific piece and receive outfit ideas built around it.
Weather, Travel, and a Market Already Occupied by Other Tools
The app offers looks based on the weather and helps plan outfits for travel. By providing the destination, duration, and planned activities, it can generate a day-by-day outfit plan that takes into account weather forecasts and the itinerary. Several applications already exist to digitize a wardrobe and visualize new outfits, including startups like Alta. Google Photos also offers tools to transform photos of clothing into digital wardrobes to create new outfit ideas.
