Meta aims for December launch of Muse Charm, device for Muse agents

Meta is ramping up its AI hardware efforts with Muse Charm, a standalone device designed to interact with its Muse agent. The release is targeted for the December holidays, although only a few units currently exist and several technical details remain to be clarified.

A Standalone Device Introduced with Fingerprint Sensor

Named Muse Charm, the device was briefly unveiled at the close of Meta Connect by Mark Zuckerberg. It takes the form of a case similar to a strapless watch, featuring a large screen and a carrying cord. It includes a fingerprint sensor in the upper right corner to activate the device and communicate with the agent. A small camera module appears to be present, along with at least three microphone openings on the front. According to Mark Zuckerberg, there is no need to unlock a phone or open an app to use it. He also mentioned a translucent case, described as a "high hacker aesthetic."

Muse Expands and Muse Charm Competes with Rabbit R1

Meta is developing Muse Charm for its Muse agent, a recent product that is less than a month old and already enjoys significant exposure. The bot can act on behalf of the user, and Meta is adding features such as using computers on Mac and controlling an email address. The device considered closest to Muse Charm is the Rabbit R1, which has a similar size and is designed around an AI agent, but is deemed insufficiently performant to warrant being carried around.
