Microsoft Unifies Copilot for Consumers and Businesses

Microsoft has updated Copilot with a new design and a new icon. According to the company, the application brings together chat, image generation, and the capabilities of Microsoft 365. This single application is also intended to eliminate the coexistence of two Copilot icons in the notification area and the taskbar. Meanwhile, Microsoft is beginning to unify its consumer and enterprise Copilots within a single interface called Microsoft Copilot, with the integration of personal and professional accounts announced.

New Icon and Combined Functions, According to Microsoft

The new unified application features a brand-new icon. Microsoft states that it is based on a new design and combines Copilot chat and image creation, leveraging the power of Microsoft 365 for work. This single application aims to eliminate the need for two Copilot icons in the notification area and the taskbar.

Professional and Personal Accounts Combined in the Unified App

Personal accounts will be integrated into the new application. Professional accounts will also be included. The relevant assistants cater to both consumers and businesses.

Deployment Started and Name Retained

Microsoft has begun merging its consumer and enterprise Copilot experiences into a single interface, starting with the Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot applications. The interface retains the name Microsoft Copilot and is presented as a "super app."
