Mistral AI: Workflows Transform AI Orchestration

Mistral AI recently launched Workflows, a new orchestration solution designed to facilitate the integration of artificial intelligence into business processes. Currently in public preview, this tool is already being adopted by several major companies, including ASML, ABANCA, CMA-CGM, France Travail, La Banque Postale, and Moeve, to manage critical processes.

Workflows is part of the Mistral Studio platform and allows developers to design processes in Python. Each step of these processes is recorded in Studio, and employees can activate them via the chatbot Le Chat. A notable feature is the ability to pause a workflow with a simple line of code to allow for human approval, which is particularly useful for tasks such as freight releases or customer data verifications.

The system is built on the Temporal engine, a proven technology used by giants like Netflix, Stripe, and Salesforce. Mistral AI handles the orchestration, while data processing remains secure within the client's system.

This launch comes during a dynamic year for Mistral AI, marked by the introduction of the API Agents in May, which allows for the coordination of multiple AI agents, and the launch of the Mistral Small 4 open-weight model in March. Additionally, the company recently secured a $830 million loan to build a new data center near Paris, highlighting its rapid expansion.
