Mistral AI Partners with Airbus for Its Third Anniversary
At the "AI Now Summit" held at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, Mistral AI celebrated its third anniversary by announcing a major collaboration with Airbus. This strategic alliance aims to integrate artificial intelligence into the industrial engineering processes of the aerospace giant. The goal is to transform Airbus's working methods, not only for its commercial aircraft but also for its helicopter, defense, and space divisions.
Airbus, which has been collaborating with Palantir since 2017 through the Skywise platform to optimize the maintenance of its aircraft, sees Mistral AI as a partner capable of providing additional expertise in optimizing industrial processes.
BMW and Mistral AI: A New Era for the Automotive Industry
In addition to its partnership with Airbus, Mistral AI announced a collaboration with BMW. This initiative is part of the German automaker's "Large Industry Model" project. The goal is to develop multimodal reasoning models based on engineering data for complex applications, such as crash simulations.
This partnership with BMW represents a significant advancement for Mistral AI, which already counts renowned companies such as CMA CGM and TotalEnergies among its partners. Together, they aim to push the boundaries of AI in the automotive industry.
A New Suite of Tools for Industrial Clients
Mistral AI took this opportunity to launch "Mistral for Industrial Engineering," a suite of AI tools designed to meet the specific needs of industrial clients. This offering combines advanced models, expertise in engineering, and robotics to enhance critical industrial operations.
The aim of this suite is to enable engineers to overcome bottlenecks in industrial simulations while ensuring strict control over proprietary data and intellectual property. This approach seeks to provide a sovereign alternative to solutions offered by American giants like OpenAI and Anthropic.
Strategic Expansion and Acquisition
To strengthen this offering, Mistral AI recently announced the acquisition of Emmi AI, an Austrian company specializing in the development of Large Engineering Models. These models enable the creation of digital twins capable of accurately simulating industrial processes while adhering to the laws of physics, such as fluid dynamics and solid mechanics.
This strategic acquisition aims to optimize design, manufacturing, and production processes in the industrial sector, which continues to evolve thanks to advancements in artificial intelligence. Mistral AI thus positions itself as a leader in industrial innovation, ready to transform traditional working methods through AI.
