Ten years after helping secure WhatsApp, Marlinspike is back in the spotlight with Confer. This project integrates with Meta AI to ensure the confidentiality of exchanges, even for prominent figures like Mark Zuckerberg. The announcement, made on March 17, 2026, highlights a certain irony: while Meta recently removed end-to-end encryption for private messages on Instagram, it chooses to bolster security in its artificial intelligence tools.
