Enhanced Personalization with Personal Intelligence
The Gemini app, already known for its image generation capabilities, takes a new step by integrating the Personal Intelligence feature. This advancement allows the app to adapt more finely to the individual needs of users. By utilizing data from Nano Banana 2 and your Google Photos library, Gemini now offers a deeply personal image creation experience. The goal is to facilitate the creation of unique images while reducing the time spent explaining your preferences.
Simplifying the Creative Process
One of the main challenges faced when generating images through artificial intelligence is formulating an effective prompt. Until now, achieving a truly personalized result required lengthy descriptions and the manual uploading of reference photos. With Personal Intelligence, Gemini now understands your preferences from the outset. By integrating this context into Nano Banana 2, the app can automatically fill in the gaps, anchoring each creation in your interests. If you have already linked your Google apps, this context is immediately available when you start creating images.
This simplification frees you from tedious tasks. Instead of writing complex descriptions, you can use simple prompts like "Design my dream house" or "Create an image of my essentials on a deserted island." The results will automatically reflect your tastes and lifestyle, drawn from the connected Google apps.
Integrating Your Personal Memories
Your Google Photos library is filled with precious moments. By connecting it to Personal Intelligence, Gemini goes beyond merely understanding your interests. The app can use real images of you and your loved ones to guide the image creation process.
With the ability to organize and label groups of people and animals in your library, these labels provide the necessary context for Gemini to personalize your images. Your close circle can thus become the main subject of your creations, whether you want a realistic result or something more imaginative.
With these labels in place, you can ask Gemini to "create a clay image of me and my family enjoying our favorite activity." The app can automatically generate this specific image. You can also experiment with different artistic styles, such as watercolors, charcoal sketches, or oil paintings, transforming a quick idea into a custom creation.
Keeping Control of Your Creations
While this new experience is innovative, Gemini may not always choose the exact photo or detail you had in mind on the first try. To allow you to maintain control over your creations, customization options have been integrated. If the result does not meet your expectations, you can indicate to Gemini what needs to be corrected and try again. You can also click on the ‘+’ icon to select another reference photo from your Google Photos library.
If you want to understand how your context was applied, the Sources button will show you which image was automatically selected to guide the creation. You can even ask Gemini for information about the attribution and sources used for that specific image.
Privacy Considerations
Integrating personal details into your images should not compromise your privacy. Gemini's fundamental commitments remain unchanged. The app does not directly train its models on your private Google Photos library. We train on limited information, such as specific prompts in Gemini and model responses, to improve functionality over time. Additionally, connecting your Google apps to Gemini is an opt-in experience, which you can adjust in your settings at any time.
This new personalized image creation experience in the Gemini app will be rolled out in the coming days for Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers in the United States. We plan to extend it to Gemini on Chrome desktop and other users soon. Try it out as soon as it becomes available in your app — we look forward to seeing how these tools help you spend less time giving instructions and more time creating.
