Nvidia Strengthens Its Grip on AI with Massive Investments
Nvidia has taken a significant step by investing over $40 billion in companies specializing in artificial intelligence in 2025. This strategic move aims to solidify its position as an essential pillar of the technology industry.
This week, Nvidia announced notable investments, including up to $2.1 billion in IREN, a data center operator, and $3.2 billion in Corning, a fiber optics specialist, according to CNBC.
A Major Commitment to OpenAI and Other Players
Among the most significant investments, Nvidia has committed $30 billion to OpenAI, a key player in the development of advanced AI models. Other beneficiaries of these funds include Anthropic, xAI, CoreWeave, Nebius, Marvell, Lumentum, and Coherent.
Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang, expressed during a podcast in April the company's desire to support all businesses developing foundational models, rather than favoring certain players. This strategy reflects an inclusive approach aimed at fostering innovation across the sector.
A Circular Investment Strategy
Some observers have noted that these investments fit into a circular pattern, particularly with the neoclouds. These essentially pre-finance the purchase of Nvidia's GPUs, further strengthening the company's position in the technology components market.
