Nvidia Acquires Hugging Face, Mistral Prepares for Record Funding

Acquisition of Hugging Face by Nvidia, preparation for a mega-funding round at Mistral, refinancing of Sorare, purchase of Doctrine by LexisNexis, and the return of Olivier Pailhes to the helm of Aircall: several financial and industrial movements are reshaping the landscape. Ambitious figures sit alongside precise product objectives, from legal matters to customer relations.
Nvidia invests $12.9 billion in Hugging Face and promises openness
NVIDIA will acquire HUGGING FACE for $12.9 billion. This marks the second-largest operation for the GPU manufacturer after the $20 billion invested in GROQ's assets. HUGGING FACE boasts over 18 million developers and 200,000 user companies. Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, asserts that the platform must remain accessible across various clouds and accelerators.
Capital is organizing: Mistral aims for €3 billion and Sorare prepares for profitability
MISTRAL is reportedly on the verge of raising €3 billion for a post-money valuation of €21 billion, according to some sources. Participants in this round are said to include SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS, the Scaleup Europe fund managed by EQT, EURAZEO, NVIDIA, ASML, and other investors. If this operation materializes, it would bring together players from European capital, semiconductor specialists, and computing infrastructure, surpassing the usual framework of a venture capital syndicate. SORARE, for its part, has completed a new funding round of an undisclosed amount, involving BENCHMARK, ACCEL, PARTECH, KIBO VENTURES, and the company's founders. The founder indicates that SORARE's net revenue increased by 85% year-on-year in the first half of 2026. Over 100,000 players have purchased cards, and the platform welcomed one million new users in eighteen months. The funds raised will support the development of the free Arcade mode and launch new products, aiming to return to profitability by the end of 2027. The company had previously raised €635 million.

LexisNexis integrates Doctrine and targets over one million legal professionals
LEXISNEXIS has acquired DOCTRINE for an undisclosed amount, just over a year after the two companies faced off in court. The structure resulting from this merger combines 800 employees and reports nearly €200 million in revenue in France, while DOCTRINE will temporarily maintain its brand and teams. This merger combines the legal resources of LEXISNEXIS with the AI workflows developed by DOCTRINE, adopted by 27,000 professionals for research, analysis, drafting, and automation. The announced goal is to provide tools to over one million legal professionals across Europe. In November 2025, David Amiel and Guillaume Carrère announced at the Adopt AI Summit the establishment of a partnership aimed at equipping several tens of thousands of administrative legal professionals with solutions for analysis, research, and automated drafting.
Aircall focuses on voice agents and recalls its co-founder as CEO
Olivier Pailhes, who co-founded AIRCALL, is resuming the role of CEO with the aim of strengthening proximity to the product and customers. The company is intensifying its efforts in the field of AI voice agents, designed to handle a portion of calls and leave higher-value interactions to human teams. This return is part of AIRCALL's transformation from a cloud telephony solution to a platform combining voice automation and human interactions.
