OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Health in the United States
OpenAI has announced the rollout of ChatGPT Health for all users in the United States starting this Thursday. This new feature allows users to connect their medical records and health tracking information directly to the chatbot, paving the way for a more personalized and potentially more effective interaction with their health data.
During a briefing, Ashley Alexander, Vice President of Health Products at OpenAI, stated that the models developed by the company are now capable of "reasoning at levels higher than those of clinicians." This statement underscores OpenAI's ambition to position its artificial intelligence models as powerful tools in the healthcare sector.
However, Karan Singhal, Head of Health at OpenAI, added nuance to this claim. He clarified that he would "temper" the notion that OpenAI's models reason at better levels than human clinicians. Singhal mentioned the existence of individual studies that have been conducted, without detailing their results, suggesting that the performance of the models may vary depending on the contexts and use cases.
