OpenAI recently announced a new paid offering for ChatGPT, called ChatGPT Pro, aimed primarily at developers and advanced users. This plan, priced at €103 per month in France, was unveiled on X and does not replace the previous tier at €229 per month. However, it is worth noting that the latter plan, launched at the end of 2024, is no longer visible on OpenAI's pricing page.
A Subscription Designed for Intensive Developers
The announcement, made on April 9, 2026, highlights a tier aimed at "supporting the growing use of Codex," an OpenAI development tool that already has over 3 million active developers each week. ChatGPT Pro offers Codex usage limits five times higher than those of ChatGPT Plus, which is priced at €21 per month. According to an OpenAI spokesperson, this new tier at $100 is designed to provide developers with increased development capacity, particularly during intensive work sessions.
Temporary Benefits for a Successful Launch
To celebrate the launch of ChatGPT Pro, OpenAI is offering subscribers Codex usage limits ten times higher than those of the Plus plan, until May 31, 2026. This initiative aims to enable users to accomplish their most ambitious projects.
Since April 2, OpenAI has adjusted the pricing of Codex for its Business and Enterprise plans, basing costs on actual consumption through a token-based billing model for the API. The Codex usage limits for the Plus and Pro plans have also been revised in this context.
Additional Features of ChatGPT Pro
In addition to the extensive use of Codex, ChatGPT Pro includes several features aimed at users who rely on AI for complex tasks. Among these features are:
- Advanced reasoning with GPT-5.4 Pro,
- Faster and unlimited image generation,
- Maximum access to Deep Research and Agent mode,
- Extended memory and context,
- Broader access to Sora,
- The ability to test new features in beta,
- Expanded access to projects, tasks, and customized GPT.
These options are also available in the other Pro tier at €229 per month, which stands out with Codex usage limits that can reach twenty times those of the other plans.
