OpenAI adds Decisions, a public beta API designed to make judgments on standardized assessments and touted as significantly faster than Responses. Meanwhile, the publisher is streamlining its paid tiers to three levels — Build, Launch, and Grow — with monthly caps of $500, $5,000, and $200,000.

Three API Tiers and Defined Monthly Caps

OpenAI is reducing its paid offerings from five to three levels named Build, Launch, and Grow. Monthly usage is capped at $500, $5,000, and $200,000. Organizations are automatically upgraded to the next tier when their credit purchases reach the next threshold.

Decisions Standardizes Output and Announces Speed Gains

Decisions processes text, images, or a combination of both and returns results in three forms: yes/no probabilities, choices from predefined categories, or ratings on a scale. OpenAI states that this service operates about ten times faster than the Responses API. At this stage, only the gpt-6-luna model is supported, priced at $0.10 per million input tokens, with output tokens being free.

Public Beta, Compliance, and Initial Use Cases Cited

The API is available in public beta, with general availability announced soon. It offers the option not to retain data and ensures compliance with HIPAA in the United States as well as in Europe. OpenAI cites use cases such as detecting damage in images, automatically routing customer queries, and categorizing documents.
