OpenAI Revolutionizes ChatGPT: Unlimited Conversations for Everyone

OpenAI is making a significant change for users of ChatGPT in its free and Go versions: starting next week, these users will be able to have unlimited text conversations with the chatbot. Currently, there are frequency limits for text discussions on these versions, but these limits will soon be lifted. Messages that include files or images will continue to have restrictions.

Next week, OpenAI will also introduce a “Think” button for free and Go users, allowing them to access superior reasoning for more difficult questions. This week, for these users, the company is updating the default AI model of ChatGPT to the recently launched GPT-5.6 Luna.

For Plus and Pro subscribers, the GPT-5.6 Sol model in ChatGPT will be updated to be “more reliable with facts,” according to OpenAI. “The new GPT-5.6 Sol is designed to make fewer mistakes — especially when answers depend on dates, numbers, sources, rules, or assumptions — by better utilizing the sources it finds to answer your question.” The updated GPT-5.6 Sol will also provide “more direct answers” with “tighter formatting,” and OpenAI claims that ChatGPT will “avoid extra details when they are not helpful.”

Plus and Pro subscribers will also be able to use a new slider to decide “the level of thought that ChatGPT puts into a response.” Both the updated GPT-5.6 Sol and the slider will be available starting Thursday.
