With the latest update, OpenAI has introduced six business modules directly accessible from Codex. Each module incorporates specific instructions and context, replicating the operational logic of a particular role. Among the new features, OpenAI has introduced a function called Sites, which allows users to publish generated results as interactive websites hosted in the cloud. To achieve this, OpenAI is relying on several technology partners such as Wix, Replit, Figma, and Lovable.
Another significant innovation concerns contextual annotations. This feature allows users to precisely select an area of a document or file to launch more targeted commands. It addresses a key need for businesses: improving the accuracy of AI interactions in complex work environments.
OpenAI and the Future of AI in Business
With these announcements, OpenAI continues its goal of becoming an AI infrastructure provider for organizations. Three weeks before this update, the company launched OpenAI Deployment Company, a joint venture dedicated to enterprise clients, backed by over $4 billion in international investments.
After democratizing generative AI for the general public, OpenAI is now seeking to establish itself at the heart of business operations. The real challenge is to integrate powerful models into existing company systems. Businesses are looking for AI tools that understand their processes, documents, and industries, rather than just generic conversational assistants.
