Photoshop: AI Interface in Beta and Promptless Editing

Adobe reorganizes the AI features of Photoshop and promises simpler editing. An update activates a dedicated beta view, a gesture marking tool, and an evolution of Instruct Edit with Masks. Adobe claims that Firefly Image 5 understands the context of an image and eliminates the need for manual marking beforehand.
Firefly Image 5 claims to avoid manual marking
Adobe asserts that its Firefly Image 5 model now comprehends the entire context of an image. According to the company, it is no longer necessary to manually mark each area before modifying it. At the same time, Adobe updates the Instruct Edit with Masks feature, which allows users to edit a mask using natural language prompts. Adobe provides examples such as the ability to request the opening of closed eyes or the addition of a hat on a person's head simply by describing it.

New visual commands with markup
It is now possible, thanks to a markup feature, to write instructions directly on the image to guide the AI assistant. This functionality allows users to designate areas to be modified in color, draw arrows to indicate a location, or roughly sketch shapes to suggest the addition of new objects. According to Adobe, these indications can be used without the need for a text prompt.
AI Assisted Editor consolidates AI tools in beta
With this update, Photoshop introduces AI Assisted Editor, a beta interface designed to consolidate AI tools. This interface presents various AI functions in a streamlined toolbar, including an image editor that works with prompts, a background removal tool, and an AI image enlargement option.
