Ringg Raises $10M and Expands Its Voice AI Agents

Ringg claims to run its voice AI agents on complex, large-scale cases while expanding channels beyond the phone. The company adds $10 million to its Series A led by Peak XV, bringing the total to $15.5 million, as it reports handling 20 million call attempts monthly and is actively hiring.

Ringg Deploys Its Agents in 1,200 Clinics and Diversifies Channels

According to Siddharth Tripathi, Ringg's voice agent now operates in 1,200 clinics for Practo, where it assists patients in scheduling appointments and following up after their visits. Despite this scaling, voice still accounts for over 70% of the activity, while the company is branching out into chat and WhatsApp. For clients like Shell, Ringg also automates support requests from the browser, on a product architecture that orchestrates different models based on use cases. Rishen Kapoor, partner at Peak XV, states that Ringg can execute end-to-end business flows and higher-value tasks such as merchant onboarding and Level 1 and 2 support with consistency and quality. Tripathi summarizes this approach as a results-oriented agent platform rather than just a voice tool.

The Company Orchestrates Third-Party Models and Builds Its Own

Siddharth Tripathi indicates that Ringg is developing its own speech recognition and generation models. At this stage, owning the entire stack, including infrastructure and deployment, remains too costly, so the product acts as an orchestrator towards different models based on needs. However, Ringg ultimately aims to master the entire voice stack. For Rishen Kapoor, Ringg's history as a research lab building its models explains a technical depth that translates today into complex use cases.

Clients Primarily in India and Preferred GCC Partnerships

The majority of Ringg's clients are located in India, with a few accounts in the Middle East and the United States. The startup does not aim for direct commercialization with American companies. It prefers partnerships with Global Competence Centers based in India to integrate its automation solutions alongside the existing human support.

A Highly Competitive Market Around a Layered Stack

According to Truecaller, 76% of Indian consumers prefer the phone to contact businesses, while voice AI is a highly competitive field. The stack includes model manufacturers, orchestrators, and application players targeting business flows. Among the manufacturers are Deepgram, ElevenLabs, and Cartesia, as well as local players like Sarvam and Smallest.ai. On the orchestration layer, Bolna and Blue Machines pursue an approach similar to that of Ringg, while sector specialists such as Gnani and Arrowhead focus on finance.

Peak XV Invests $10M; Ringg Claims Growth and Hiring

Ringg adds $10 million from Peak XV in an extension of its Series A, following a previous raise of $5.5 million; the round now totals $15.5 million. The company reports handling 20 million call attempts per month and anticipates an increase in volume soon. The startup has 40 employees, with over 15 hired in the last three months, and is looking for forward-deployed engineers as well as researchers tasked with reducing the execution costs of its models. Originally born as DesiVocal, a text-to-speech offering, Ringg pivoted to voice AI agents when training proprietary models proved too costly. Cred was its first client, followed by accounts like Flipkart, Practo, Groww, and PolicyBazaar. Siddharth Tripathi reports that initially, the company covered simple, high-volume cases such as outbound calls, lead qualification, and loan collection, which were deemed unsustainable and highly price-sensitive. Ringg continues to handle some of these, while now targeting more complex flows like appointment scheduling, abandoned cart recovery, and KYC verifications.
