UK: Access to Avengers AI Labs and SCALP Sharing

London becomes the first foreign partner to access the Ukrainian military's Avengers AI Labs database, trained on over 5 million images and already capable of identifying about 70% of enemy targets. The agreement includes immediate projects in the UK, such as converting fiber optic cables into sensors to protect sensitive sites and developing low-power AI chips for drones and robots. The British government is simultaneously allowing the sharing of classified information related to the SCALP missile to enable assembly lines in Ukraine.

London authorizes SCALP data and deploys sensors

The UK has given the green light to MBDA, 37.5% owned by a British group, to share classified information on components of the long-range SCALP missile. This framework aims to allow Ukraine to establish local assembly lines to ensure supply to the front. At the same time, the partnership is materializing in the UK with a first system that transforms buried fiber optic cables into smart sensors to monitor the perimeter of military bases. Ultimately, these sensors could contribute to the protection of airports, power plants, or railway lines. Another project aims to create very low-power AI chips to increase the autonomy of drones and ground robots.

London becomes the first foreign country to gain direct access to Avengers AI Labs, described as a strategic database of the Ukrainian military. This tool has been trained on over 5 million images from the battlefield and is already able to detect in real-time about 70% of adversary targets, whether they are tanks, artillery, or drones. In exchange, the UK offers its technological ecosystem, its universities, and several specialized startups, aiming to accelerate the development of next-generation defense algorithms. According to the UK’s Minister of AI, Kanishka Narayan, this initiative embodies an application of AI sovereignty, intended to develop systems that protect deployed forces and critical infrastructure.

Zelensky and Andy Burnham seal an AI agreement

The UK formalizes an unprecedented alliance with Kyiv in the field of artificial intelligence through an agreement sealed by Volodymyr Zelensky and Andy Burnham. This cooperation comes amid a context where Ukraine has established itself as a military innovation laboratory, developing and testing solutions at an unprecedented pace. Partners from Kyiv are looking to capitalize on the accumulated experience, particularly regarding the use of drones and AI tools on the battlefield. Airbus has announced a partnership to test its technologies directly at the front. Defense Secretary Wes Streeting believes that combining British skills with Ukrainian data and experience will strengthen the defense and security of both countries.
