Samsung and AI Gemini: A Partnership Transforming the Galaxy

Samsung recently unveiled a series of new AI-based features at its Unpacked event, highlighting a deeper hardware integration. At the heart of this revolution is Gemini, the AI developed by Google, which promises to bring advanced automation and enhanced search capabilities. This technology is now natively integrated into Samsung's latest product lineup, including the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, the Galaxy Watch 9, as well as the brand's upcoming smart glasses.

Task Automation

Google, in a blog post, detailed how Gemini Intelligence could transform the way users accomplish everyday digital tasks. Whether it's buying concert tickets, ordering a meal, or booking travel, Gemini Intelligence aims to be a versatile assistant. While Google mentions compatibility with over 40 applications, specifics about the applications and their availability remain to be clarified.

The Galaxy Z Flip 8 stands out for its ability to activate Gemini Intelligence via its Flex Window. By holding down the power button, users can easily access this feature. Google emphasizes that users maintain full control over the process, with the ability to track task progress, pause them, or verify that the AI is executing the desired commands correctly.

Integration of Gemini Notebook

Following the rebranding of Google's search assistant, now known as Gemini Notebook, Samsung announced that this application would be pre-installed on its new Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra models. The large screens of these foldable phones, particularly the side-by-side display of the Galaxy Z Fold, facilitate the drag-and-drop of links, photos, documents, and more, thereby optimizing users' mobile workflow.

Collaboration Between Glasses and Galaxy Watch

At the Unpacked event, Samsung also provided a glimpse of its upcoming smart glasses, developed in partnership with Google and Qualcomm. According to Samsung, these new glasses, while lacking a display, incorporate a camera, speakers, and microphones. Google clarified in its blog that these glasses will be compatible with Gemini AI and will natively integrate with compatible smartwatches, promising an enriched and connected user experience.
