Schematic Raises Funds to Transform SaaS Pricing
Schematic, an innovative startup based in Boulder, Colorado, recently announced a $6.5 million fundraising round in a seed financing round. This information was exclusively revealed by Crunchbase News. The round was led by S3 Ventures, with notable participation from MHS, Active Capital, NextView Ventures, and Ritual. Since its founding in 2023, Schematic has accumulated a total of $12 million in funding.
Simplifying Pricing for SaaS Companies
Schematic's primary mission is to simplify the pricing and packaging process for software as a service (SaaS) and artificial intelligence (AI) companies. The startup builds attribution and application infrastructures that act as a "digital guardian" for these businesses. Traditionally, when a sales team wants to offer a discount or additional storage to a customer, they must call on an engineer to modify the code, which is often time-consuming and costly. Schematic offers an innovative solution by allowing these companies to integrate its services directly into their products. This enables marketing or sales team members to easily adjust parameters via a simple dashboard, without requiring engineering skills.
Strategic Partnership with Stripe
In addition to this fundraising, Schematic announced a strategic partnership with Stripe, the payment giant. Stripe has selected Schematic to solve attributions as a top-tier primitive, meaning these attributions are decoupled from the code and applied in real-time on Stripe Billing. This new application will be publicly showcased at the Stripe Sessions next week. Currently, Stripe handles financial transactions but does not directly intervene in the application to control user actions. Schematic positions itself as the "muscle" that actually enforces the rules established by platforms like Stripe.
Drastic Reduction in Price Change Timelines
The impact of Schematic is already visible among its clients. For instance, Plotly, a company using Schematic's services, has reduced the time needed to change its pricing from several weeks to just 10 minutes. Other notable clients of Schematic include Automox, Florence, and Sema4.ai. According to Fynn Glover, CEO and co-founder of Schematic, AI has turned attributions into an "emerging crisis," as neither underlying costs nor customer value are predictable and accumulate in real-time.
Real-Time Monetization Infrastructure
Glover explains that Schematic is developing a real-time monetization infrastructure, essential for addressing the challenges posed by AI. Value is now accumulating in a non-deterministic manner, requiring pricing and packaging to be applied in real-time. A ghost application system capturing webhooks from a billing platform cannot support this inflection.
Growing Investment in Fintech Startups
Charlie Plauche, general partner at S3 Ventures, emphasized that his firm was attracted to Schematic for several reasons. As operators, they found that price changes are often delayed because the attribution logic is buried in the application code. Additionally, AI is pushing companies away from seat-based pricing models. Hybrid and consumption-based models now represent 38% of SaaS companies, a trend that is intensifying. Finally, Schematic's co-founders, Fynn Glover, Ben Papillon, and Gio Hobbins, share nearly a decade of experience in managing pricing and packaging in fast-growing SaaS companies.
Fintech startups have seen increased investment in recent quarters. According to Crunchbase data, global funding for venture-backed financial technology startups reached $53.8 billion in 2025, a more than 29% increase from the total of $41.6 billion raised in 2024.
