Seedance and Gauth: An Alliance for Modern Education
Seedance, known for its viral videos, is partnering with the educational app Gauth to offer a new way to learn. By leveraging its advanced video generation capabilities, Seedance is helping to transform complex educational topics into captivating cinematic narratives. This initiative is the result of collaboration between two entities belonging to ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, which seeks to expand its influence in the education sector.
An Innovative Approach to Capturing Young Attention
The Gauth app, specializing in edtech and powered by artificial intelligence, has announced a major update that integrates videos created by Seedance. These videos aim to make educational concepts more understandable by presenting them as visual stories. The launch of this feature is scheduled for August 4, coinciding with the back-to-school season to maximize its impact on students.
In a press release, Gauth explained that this collaboration with Seedance allows for the transformation of study subjects into captivating visual narratives, narrated by AI. These videos also include adaptive quizzes to encourage active learning rather than mere passive viewing.
Impressive Growth and Diverse Content
Since its launch in 2020, Gauth has experienced spectacular growth, reaching 86 million monthly active users today, a 760% increase from the previous year. The first courses to benefit from this cinematic approach will cover historical topics such as World War II, the Industrial Revolution, and the Meiji Restoration, thus offering a diversity of content to engage students.
Total Immersion in Learning
Alan Wang, the Chief Technology Officer of Gauth, emphasized that this new phase of the app, dubbed "AI Course," aims to transform the learning experience. The goal is to make studying feel more like an immersion in a captivating story, thereby making education more appealing and engaging for young learners.
Seedance: An Evolving Platform
Meanwhile, Seedance has recently launched its version 2.5, which offers more advanced editing capabilities and allows for the creation of longer videos, up to 30 seconds per generation. This update will be integrated into Gauth's "AI Course," further enhancing the effectiveness of video-based learning.
Seedance, which shares similarities with Sora from Meta, has already made a mark in the AI drama industry in China. The app gained popularity earlier this year, attracting the attention of major production houses and streaming services like Disney and Netflix, due to concerns regarding intellectual property.
In response to these concerns, ByteDance stated that it would strengthen protective measures on the Seedance app while affirming its respect for intellectual property rights.
