Siri AI Beta Now Available to Everyone on iOS 27 Without Registration

The beta version of Siri AI can now be activated without prior registration by users of compatible devices running iOS 27. Access remains subject to regional and language constraints, and not all models under the 27 systems are eligible. The download begins immediately, except in cases of server congestion.

Access Varies by Device, Language, and Region

Not all Apple machines running the 27 systems unlock Siri AI. The assistant is supported on the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, as well as on the iPhone 16, 17, and 18. For tablets, the eligible devices include the iPad mini A17 Pro and A20 Pro, as well as the iPad Air M1 or newer and the iPad Pro M1 or newer. On Mac, Siri AI is supported by MacBooks equipped with an M1 chip or newer. Compatible watches include the Apple Watch Series 9, 10, 11, and 12, the Apple Watch SE 3, and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Ultra 3. Apple Vision Pro is also among the supported devices. Additionally, the device must be configured in one of the supported languages, namely English, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, or Spanish. Finally, certain regions are excluded: Siri AI is not available in mainland China or the European Union for iOS, iPadOS, or WatchOS. Running iOS 27 is required.

Immediate Activation, Queue Removed

Apple has ended the waiting list for Siri AI on iOS 27, and users of eligible devices can activate the beta. However, access may be temporarily limited during peak load times. To try Siri AI, a compatible device with Apple Intelligence is needed, such as an iPhone 15 Pro or newer, certain iPad mini models, or devices equipped with an M chip, Macs with M chips, recent Apple Watches, or Apple Vision Pro. Activation is done through the Settings app: open Settings, tap Siri, then Try Siri AI (Beta) and follow the instructions. The download starts immediately, without needing to go through a waiting list.

Siri AI corresponds to the enhanced version of Apple's assistant, powered by generative AI. The tool can handle complex questions, better interpret natural phrasing, and maintain context throughout interactions within the Apple ecosystem. As a usage example, Lance Whitney recommends utilizing on-screen awareness to obtain directions, request explanations about displayed items, or send visible items to a list.
