SoundCloud Streamlines AI Publishing with ElevenLabs

SoundCloud continues its strategy of embracing generative music tools with a partnership with ElevenLabs. Creations can now be uploaded directly, accompanied by AI labeling, and a three-month trial of ElevenMusic Pro is offered to Artist Pro subscribers.

SoundCloud maintains AI labeling and anti-impersonation rules

SoundCloud encourages users subject to European Union regulations to report tracks generated or modified by artificial intelligence. The platform also enforces rules prohibiting imitation and has established several partnerships with generative music services. Unlike other streaming players, SoundCloud has not released figures on the removal of unwanted AI tracks nor communicated about their demonetization. Overall, SoundCloud adopts a more open approach to AI-generated music than other services.

Direct publishing from ElevenLabs and ElevenMusic Pro trial

Thanks to the integration with ElevenLabs, it is now possible to publish AI-generated tracks directly on SoundCloud, without going through an export and upload step. Tracks published through this stream are clearly identified as coming from an artificial intelligence tool. Additionally, SoundCloud Artist Pro subscribers receive three months free of ElevenMusic Pro to experiment with generative music creation.

A less advanced integration than that established with Moises

The partnership between SoundCloud and ElevenLabs features a lower level of integration compared to that developed with Moises. With Moises, users can transfer tracks from SoundCloud, break them down into different stems, modify them, and then re-upload them directly to the same platform. The agreement with ElevenLabs complements the one signed earlier this year with Moises, expanding the options for streaming music produced by artificial intelligence.
