Anthropic Aims for Record Valuation of $900 Billion

Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company, is currently in the midst of a fundraising phase and is seeking investments for a financing round that could reach $50 billion. According to sources close to the matter, investors must submit their allocations within 48 hours, and the closing of this round is expected in two weeks.

Anthropic's stated goal is to achieve a valuation of around $900 billion. However, strong demand from investors could push this figure beyond initial expectations. Despite this enthusiasm, some early investors, particularly those who invested in 2024 or earlier, are choosing not to participate in this round. They prefer to wait for a potential initial public offering of the company, which is planned for later this year.

This fundraising is likely the last before Anthropic goes public. It aims to finance the company's significant computing needs. Recently, Anthropic announced that its annual revenue has surpassed $30 billion, although sources indicate that this figure is closer to $40 billion.

In February, Anthropic had already raised funds at a valuation of $380 billion. If it reaches $900 billion, the company will not only double its valuation but also surpass OpenAI, which achieved a post-money valuation of $852 billion earlier this year.
