Spotify Enhances Its App with an Interactive AI
Spotify, the music streaming giant, is rolling out a new AI assistant feature that allows users to ask contextual questions about the content they are listening to. This innovation, currently in beta testing, offers the ability to interact directly with the app to obtain information about music, podcasts, and audiobooks.
In a demonstration video, Spotify showcases an interface where users can enter questions via a text box labeled "Ask for Music" or "Talk to Spotify." For example, a user might ask how many times they have listened to an artist like Bad Bunny.
Warning About AI Use
During tests conducted by CNET, a warning message was displayed, indicating that the user is about to engage with an AI that may make mistakes. It is advised not to share sensitive data while using this feature.
A Step Forward in AI Utilization
Spotify is no stranger to integrating AI into its services. The company has already implemented an AI DJ, AI-generated playlists, and an AI anti-spam filter to detect misleading content. Meanwhile, Apple is also offering similar features with its Playlist Playground AI.
Limited Availability for Now
The "Talk to Spotify" feature is being rolled out in beta for Premium users aged 18 and older, residing in the United States, Ireland, and Sweden. It is accessible on iOS and Android devices. For now, Spotify has not provided additional details in response to CNET's requests for clarification.
