The perpetrator of this act, a 20-year-old man, fled on foot after the attack. However, he did not evade law enforcement for long, as he was apprehended about an hour later. At the time of his arrest, he was threatening to set another building on fire. According to an OpenAI spokesperson quoted by Reuters, no one was injured in the incident. The spokesperson expressed gratitude to the San Francisco police for their swift response and the support from the city, which helped ensure the safety of OpenAI employees.
