Every morning, Huxe generates a personalized podcast that relies on your calendar, emails, and news preferences. This app allows you to easily adjust your interests and skip stories that do not appeal to you.

After a week of use, during which an AI-generated podcast helped me prepare for my day, I find myself wondering why I didn't adopt this technology sooner. Developed by former engineers from Google NotebookLM, Huxe extracts information from your calendar and emails, as well as relevant news articles, to transform them into a concise podcast focused on your daily life. Although I was initially skeptical about spending time on AI-generated content, Huxe quickly proved its worth.

A Rewarding User Experience

Working from home, with my children's school located less than 10 minutes away, I have about 20 minutes of commute each morning. Typically, this time is spent listening to podcasts or letting my kids choose what they want to hear. However, this week, I used that time to listen to Huxe's daily recap. While my children were not thrilled, for me, who often struggles to stay organized, this app has proven to be a valuable asset.

Quick and Intuitive Setup

Setting up Huxe is quick, taking less than five minutes. I connected my calendar and emails for the "Here’s Your Day" section of the podcast, activated location services for local news and weather, and selected from predefined interests. If your interests are not among the options provided, you can manually add them, and the app will understand.

During the initial setup, Huxe did not fully grasp my preferences (likely based on my emails and calendar events). Among the five selected interests, one was incorrect, and two were not relevant enough for me to want to hear them every morning. However, you can refine these selections over time to ensure you receive only the information that matters to you.

A Valuable Aid for Daily Organization

The news section of Huxe is particularly useful. The exchanges between the two AI hosts feel natural, and you can interrupt the conversation at any time to ask a question or skip a story that doesn’t interest you. The more I used the app, the more I could customize it to listen to exactly what I wanted, to the point where I stayed in my car after arriving home to finish listening.

What I found most beneficial were the calendar and email updates provided by Huxe. While I could access this information myself, once distracted by social media or other tasks, it takes me much longer to refocus on my daily priorities. Huxe does not provide new information, but it reminds me of what is most urgent for my day while allowing me to manage other activities.

The app even reads the content of your emails to provide additional context, highlights upcoming events, and takes factors like the weather into account. For example, my calendar indicated a planned visit this weekend (I lead ghost tours in Uptown Charlotte), and Huxe reminded me that it would be exceptionally hot, advising me to bring water.

Huxe has become a simple solution for staying informed about my day without having to check a screen. What I initially thought was just a novelty has now become an integral part of my daily routine. The free app is available on iOS and Android.
