The pace of development: slow down or even suspend

Regarding the pace of development, 47% of Americans prefer a slowdown. 30% advocate for a complete halt until safety is verified. In contrast, only 5% wish for an acceleration. Quinnipiac University reports that most Americans want to slow down or pause AI development.
