This personalization even extends to allowing table reservations directly through the app.

Duchi emphasized that this feature is designed to simplify users' lives: "Less scrolling, more strolling." The responses provided by Gemini rely exclusively on data from Google Maps, without resorting to other Google applications like Gmail. The personalized information comes from previous searches conducted on Maps or Google Search, as well as places saved by users.

Questions About Monetization

When asked about the possibility of monetization through paid placements for businesses, Duchi refrained from speculating on Google's future plans. However, he assured that the recommendations from Ask Maps would not be influenced by paid placements.

The Ask Maps feature will be available this week in the United States and India on Android and iOS devices, with a desktop version expected soon.
