Washington Restores AISI's Access to AI Models

After a blockage in September, the UK Institute for AI Security has regained early access to the systems of Anthropic, Google DeepMind, and OpenAI. This decision follows the intervention of AI Minister Kanishka Narayan, who plans to strengthen reporting obligations for security incidents related to AI. At the UN, the UK advocates for international regulation while Donald Trump warns against the influence of globalist organizations.
Warnings at the UN and Intelligence Alerts
During the United Nations General Assembly, Prime Minister Andy Burnham supported the idea of international regulation of artificial intelligence. At the same event, Donald Trump warned against the involvement of organizations labeled as globalists in the development of American AI. Additionally, officials from MI6, MI5, and GCHQ have warned British ministers that AI could enhance the capabilities of hostile actors and terrorist groups.

Early Access for the AISI Restored with Three Players
The White House has reversed its previous decision and restored the UK Institute for AI Security's access to new artificial intelligence models. The AISI, which tests AI systems to identify security risks before they are commercialized, will once again benefit from early access to models developed by Anthropic, Google DeepMind, and OpenAI, according to the Daily Telegraph.
From the September Blockage to Upcoming UK Measures
In September, the Trump administration had demanded that companies stop providing their models to the AISI, which led Anthropic to restrict access to its Claude Mythos 5.1 model. Following diplomatic efforts led by AI Minister Kanishka Narayan, the blockage has been lifted. Narayan is expected to announce new security measures soon, including stricter reporting requirements for security incidents related to AI affecting critical infrastructure.
