Naaia and Ventech Join Forces for AI Compliance

Naaia, an innovative startup in the field of regulatory compliance, recently announced the closing of a Series A funding round, raising €6 million. This operation was led by Ventech, a major player in venture capital. Naaia's platform is designed to help companies manage the risks associated with artificial intelligence (AI) and automate their compliance, particularly in light of the stringent requirements of the European AI Act.

A Solid Foundation and Diverse Expertise

Founded in 2022, Naaia is the result of collaboration among three experienced lawyers, Nathalie Beslay, Benjamin May, and Olivia Rime, along with Côme Sauzay, a digital transformation expert. Together, they established a RegTech company specializing in the management of risks related to AI systems. Since 2023, their solution has been available on the market, offering companies the ability to centralize the inventory of their AI systems, assess risks, allocate responsibilities, and automate the necessary controls to comply with the AI Act, the ISO 42001 standard, and the Cyber Resilience Act.

Nathalie Beslay explains that their solution significantly reduces the time spent on these tasks through an integrated approach that allows for regulatory qualification and risk management on a product-by-product basis, while generating evidence of compliance.

An Innovative "Text to Action" Model

Naaia's model is based on a technology they call "text to action," which directly transforms regulatory requirements into executable tasks within their tool. This eliminates the need to rely on traditional consulting or legal services. Naaia's tool integrates both regulations, industry standards, and the specificities unique to each company, thus preventing clients from having to monitor and consolidate different rules and standards.

This €6 million funding round adds to the €3 million already raised from business angels in 2023 and 2024. For Ventech, this investment meets a growing market demand for compliance and auditability solutions, as highlighted by Jean Bourcereau, president and managing partner of the fund.

Turning Regulation into a Strategic Asset

Naaia's clientele primarily consists of large companies from the CAC 40, SBF 120, and public organizations. However, smaller companies are also beginning to take an interest in their platform, especially when AI is at the core of their business. The recently raised funds will be used to strengthen Naaia's sales, product, and technical teams, in a context where the deadlines of the AI Act for high-risk systems, expected between late 2027 and 2028, and the integration of the Cyber Resilience Act, increase companies' obligations.

Naaia also plans to accelerate the development of its AI agents and integrate new regulatory and normative frameworks. Nathalie Beslay concludes by stating that their vision is to transform regulation into a competitive advantage for companies, rather than viewing it as an obstacle.
